Chemotherapy damage to non-cancer cells may be the cause of breast cancer recurrence.

According to a recent study published on September 12 in the open access journal PLoS Biology, a typical chemotherapy drug damages nearby non-cancer cells, which can then awaken dormant cancer cells and encourage cancer growth.
