Study on fruit fly larvae reveals a link between changes in metabolism throughout the body and localized tumors.

An all-RIKEN team has found that when fruit fly larvae experience local tumor-induced stress, a signaling molecule is released that alters the animals' metabolism. There might be new approaches if the same thing occurs in humans.
