Description:

Welcome to today’s episode, where we explore GnRH agonists for endometriosis and fibroids. These medications work by suppressing the production of certain hormones, effectively reducing symptoms like pain and heavy bleeding. Scientific evidence shows they can shrink fibroids and improve quality of life for many patients. However, side effects such as bone loss and menopausal symptoms mean they’re usually recommended for short-term use, or combined with other therapies. Current guidelines suggest considering GnRH agonists when other treatments haven’t worked, or as a bridge to surgery. It’s important to tailor therapy to each person’s needs, balancing benefits and risks. As always, consult your healthcare provider for personalised advice.
