The risk of diabetic retinopathy progressing is lower when taking empagliflozin for type 2 diabetes.

Results from the EMPRISE study, which were presented at ADA 2023, revealed empagliflozin was linked to a 23 percent lower risk of diabetic retinopathy progression in adults with T2D.
