In children with persistent headaches, intravenous ketamine significantly lessens pain.

Nearly two-thirds of patients did not require additional rescue therapies 1 month after treatment when intravenous ketamine was used on pediatric patients with refractory headaches. The median amount of pain was reduced by 50% at discharge.
