Mothers who breastfeed their children may be able to prevent type 2 diabetes.

According to a mouse study, breastfeeding can increase the number of insulin-producing cells in the pancreas and increase insulin sensitivity in mothers, thereby reducing their risk of developing type 2 diabetes later in life.
