Parkinson's Disease: Early Signs to Watch

Speciality: Neurology

Speaker:

Dr. PATANGE JAYAPRAKASH RAHUL | Consultant Neurologist

Description:

Welcome to our podcast on Parkinson’s Disease. Today, we’ll discuss some of the early signs to watch for. Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological disorder that often begins subtly. Early symptoms can include tremors or shaking, especially in the hands or fingers, slowed movement, and stiffness in the limbs or joints. People might also notice changes in their handwriting, softer speech, or a reduced ability to show facial expressions. While these signs can be caused by other conditions, recognising them early allows for a timely diagnosis and better management. If you or someone you know is experiencing these symptoms, it’s important to consult a healthcare professional. Early intervention can make a significant difference. Thanks for listening.
