The efficacy of skin biopsies in identifying neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's is reported by researchers.

Researchers at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) have demonstrated that an abnormal form of alpha-synuclein can be identified by a straightforward skin biopsy test. Their findings were published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA).
