Cryogenically frozen rat kidneys that have been used in organ transplants for 100 days are a first.

Cryogenically freezing and thawing rat organs has now been made possible with the help of a team of surgeons and cryo-engineers at the University of Minnesota. The results of their research were published in the journal Nature Communications.
