Children can be treated with the same safe and efficient procedure that is used to treat adults with severe stroke, according to research.

A study that was presented at the 20th Annual Meeting of the Society of NeuroInterventional Surgery (SNIS) noted that mechanical thrombectomy, a common treatment for adults with a large vessel occlusion, a form of severe ischemic stroke, was ineffective.
