In the US over a 20-year period, a study identifies geographic "hot spots" for cigarette and firearm deaths.

One of the main causes of preventable premature death in the US is smoking, followed by firearms. 480,000 U.S. deaths are projected for 2021. S. 40,000 deaths from firearms and more than 40,000 deaths from tobacco use, both of which are legal but deadly.
