Apparently, fibroblasts may play a direct role in the growth of gastric cancer, according to a study.

Fibroblast cells are important for both the pathological scarring process and the repair of damaged tissue. Evidence of their direct involvement in the development has now been found by Vanderbilt University Medical Center researchers.
