Insufficient vitamin D is associated with poorer results when kidney disease develops early.

A study released online in the Journal on May 11th, shows that in patients with early-stage disease, vitamin D deficiency is linked to higher risks for cardiovascular mortality and the progression of chronic kidney disease (CKD).
