Overweight women may be more likely to have a stroke by the time they are 55 years old.

According to research published today in Stroke, women who were overweight or obese at age 14 or 31 had a higher risk of having an ischemic (clot-caused) stroke before age 55. This analysis was done on more than 50 years' worth of health data.
