A three-quarters reduction in the risk of prostate cancer is associated with an annual increase in cardiorespiratory fitness of more than three percent.

Research published online in the British Journal of Sports Medicine indicates that a 3 percent or greater annual increase in cardiorespiratory fitness is associated with a 35 percent lower risk of developing prostate cancer, though not dying from it.
