Why is whooping cough on the rise in Australia, and what can be done to prevent it?

The whooping cough epidemic is affecting Australia. In the first three months of 2024, there were roughly 2,799 cases reported. With more than 1,000 cases reported in each state, Queensland and New South Wales have the highest number of cases.
