Opioids are not as effective at controlling pain after elbow surgery, according to surgeons.

According to a recent study by researchers at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), children who only take ibuprofen or acetaminophen after routine elbow surgery report similar pain control to patients who take opioids.
