A team is investigating gene therapy for kids with rare mutations that cause paralysis.

From the Netherlands and the United Kingdom to the United States and China, the 50 families span these nations. Each family has a child who is paralyzed as a result of a mutation in the Contactin-Associated Protein 1 (Cntnap1) gene.
