How Diabetes Can Affect Eye Health

Speciality: Ophthalmology

Speaker:

Kaushik Banerjee | HCP

Description:

In today’s episode, let’s explore how diabetes can impact your eye health. Diabetes can damage the tiny blood vessels in your eyes, a condition known as diabetic retinopathy. This can lead to vision changes, blurred sight, or even vision loss if left untreated. High blood sugar levels can also increase your risk of developing cataracts and glaucoma. The good news is, regular eye check-ups and good blood sugar control can help protect your vision. If you have diabetes, it’s important to see your eye doctor at least once a year, even if you don’t notice any vision problems. Early detection and management are key to keeping your eyes healthy.
