Speciality: Ophthalmology
Description:
Welcome to today's episode. We're discussing why regular eye examinations are essential for adults. As we age, our risk for eye conditions like glaucoma, cataracts, and age-related macular degeneration increases. Many of these conditions develop gradually, often without noticeable symptoms in the early stages. Regular eye exams help detect problems early—sometimes even before symptoms appear—allowing for timely treatment and better outcomes. Eye exams can also reveal signs of other health issues, such as diabetes and high blood pressure. Experts recommend adults have a comprehensive eye exam at least every two years, or more frequently if you have existing health concerns. Prioritising your eye health is a simple step towards maintaining your overall well-being.
