Recognizing Warning Signs of Glaucoma

Speciality: Ophthalmology

Speaker:

Kadarla Shiva Sai Krishna | HCP

Description:

Glaucoma is often called the 'silent thief of sight' because it can progress without noticeable symptoms until significant vision loss occurs. Early detection is crucial. Warning signs may include blurry vision, seeing halos around lights, eye pain, or sudden vision loss—especially at the edges of your visual field. Some people may also experience redness or nausea. If you or someone you know notices these symptoms, it’s important to consult an eye specialist promptly. Regular eye check-ups are key, especially if you have risk factors like family history, diabetes, or high eye pressure. By recognising the warning signs early, you can protect your vision and maintain your quality of life.
