The importance of prenatal vitamins during pregnancy cannot be overstated. These essential supplements are specifically formulated to provide the necessary nutrients and minerals that may not always be obtained through diet alone. Folic acid, iron, calcium, and vitamin D are just a few of the key components found in these specialized vitamins which can greatly benefit both mother and developing baby throughout all trimesters of pregnancy. The results from a recent survey on the topic showed that approximately 75% of women understood the importance of taking prenatal vitamins for a healthy pregnancy. However, it was also noted that many women were unclear on when to start taking them or how much they should consume daily.
