Understanding Age-Related Changes in Vision

Speciality: Ophthalmology

Description:

Welcome to our podcast. Today, we’re exploring age-related changes in vision. As we get older, it’s common to notice that our eyesight isn’t as sharp as it used to be. Many people experience presbyopia, which makes it harder to focus on close objects, often starting in the early to mid-40s. Other changes can include a need for more light, increased sensitivity to glare, or trouble distinguishing between similar colours. While these changes are a normal part of ageing, regular eye exams are important to catch conditions like cataracts or glaucoma early. Taking care of your eyes with a healthy diet and protective eyewear can help maintain good vision for years to come.
