Assessing Off-Target Immune Activation Risk in Engineered T-Cell Products Through Cytokine Network Modeling

Speciality: Gene & Cell Therapy

Speaker:

Description:

Welcome to our podcast on cutting-edge immunotherapy. Today, we explore how scientists assess off-target immune activation risks in engineered T-cell products using cytokine network modeling. Engineered T-cells, such as CAR-T cells, hold great promise in cancer treatment. However, unintended activation of the immune system can cause serious side effects, known as cytokine release syndrome. By modeling the complex network of cytokines—signaling molecules that mediate immune responses—researchers can predict and minimize these risks before clinical trials. This approach helps design safer and more effective T-cell therapies, moving us closer to precision medicine in immunotherapy.
