How Deviated Nasal Septum Can Affect Breathing

Speciality: ENT

Speaker:

Amey Sonavane | HCP

Description:

In today’s episode, we’re exploring how a deviated nasal septum can impact your breathing. The nasal septum is the thin wall that separates your left and right nasal passages. Ideally, it sits in the center, allowing air to flow smoothly through both sides. But in many people, the septum is slightly off-center, or deviated, which can partially block one side of the nose. This can lead to symptoms like nasal congestion, difficulty breathing, and even snoring. In some cases, it may also contribute to sinus infections. If you notice ongoing breathing problems or frequent nasal blockage, consult an ENT specialist. Treatment options range from medications to surgical correction, depending on the severity.
