Description:

A warm welcome to all the medical professionals in this interesting session on the benefits of influenza vaccination in the high-risk populations of diabetes.

Influenza is responsible for multiple deaths and about 20 to 30% of the deaths occurring annually are observed in children depicting the poor condition of controlling influenza in children. The virus is present globally but is not that powerful to create an epidemic.

Among people with diabetes and chronic lung disease like COPD influenza causes severe impacts and flu vaccination has been shown to be associated with reduced hospitalizations from a worsening of their chronic condition.

Patients with Type 2 diabetes have an increased risk for a severe course of influenza virus infection. Influenza vaccination can safely and effectively reduce all-cause mortality and cardiovascular death in such patients. It is more effective when using higher-dose and quadrivalent vaccines.

Therefore,  get an overall knowledge regarding the benefits of influenza vaccination in high-risk populations of diabetes. Listen to the webinar, grab the knowledge that is shared, and follow HiDoc for more such interesting webinar sessions.
