Description:
A warm welcome to all the medical practitioners in this interesting session of Medical Negligence by Dr. Ausaf Shaikh.
Medical negligence, also known as medical malpractice, occurs when a healthcare professional fails to provide the standard of care that a reasonable person would provide under similar circumstances, resulting in harm to the patient.
Examples of medical negligence include misdiagnosis, delayed diagnosis, surgical errors, birth injuries, and medication errors. In order to prove medical negligence, it must be shown that the healthcare professional had a duty of care to the patient, that this duty was breached, and that the breach caused harm to the patient.
It is important to note that not all adverse outcomes in medical treatment are due to negligence. Medical treatment is complex and can involve a degree of risk, and not every bad outcome can be attributed to a healthcare professional's mistake.
If you suspect that you or a loved one has been a victim of medical negligence, it is important to seek legal advice. A medical negligence lawyer can help you understand your rights and guide you through the process of making a claim for compensation.
