Speciality: All Speciality
Description:
A warm welcome to all the medical professionals in this interesting session on understanding the legal rights of doctors to protect themselves from police cases. We have Mahendrakumar Bajpai as the speaker in this session.
The Medical Protection Act is there to shield the doctors. The Act covers doctors affiliated to institutions as well as independent practitioners.
It outlaws attacks against physicians and damage to their property. According to the act, offenders can get a jail term of up to three years and a fine of Rs 50,000.
In spite of such stringency, the act fails in protecting doctors because of the non-presence of its features in the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).
Therefore, listen to the webinar, grab the knowledge that is shared and follow HiDoc for more such interesting webinar sessions.
