Speciality: ENT
Description:
Welcome to today's episode, where we discuss recurrent ear infections in children. Ear infections are one of the most common childhood illnesses, often causing pain, irritability, and sometimes fever. When a child experiences three or more infections in six months, or four in a year, it’s considered recurrent. Factors like age, allergies, exposure to smoke, and attendance at daycare can increase risk. Most cases are caused by bacteria or viruses affecting the middle ear. While many infections resolve on their own, some require antibiotics or even minor surgery, such as ear tubes. If your child has frequent ear infections, consult your doctor for proper evaluation. Early treatment can help prevent complications and improve your child’s comfort and hearing.
