Pharmacological interventions include optimal glycemic control, blood pressure management, and lipid-lowering therapies. In particular, sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitors and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists have shown promising results in reducing cardiovascular risk.
Patient education plays a pivotal role in managing diabetes and associated cardiovascular risk. Empowering patients with knowledge about their disease, its complications, and the importance of adherence to medication and lifestyle changes can significantly improve outcomes.

It requires a comprehensive approach involving lifestyle modifications, pharmacological interventions, and patient education.
