Integrative health systems, defined as coordinated approaches combining evidence-based conventional medicine with safe and effective complementary health practices, are increasingly adopted in diverse healthcare settings. This approach aims to address the multidimensional aspects of health biological, psychological, social, and spiritual by leveraging the strengths of multiple traditions. As the prevalence of chronic diseases rises and patient demand for holistic care grows, understanding the scientific underpinnings and community acceptance of integrative health becomes critical for clinicians and policymakers.
Recent epidemiological data indicate that between 30-70% of adults in developed countries have used some form of complementary or alternative medicine (CAM) in the past year.
