Abstract

This review synthesizes current evidence on the mechanisms, clinical assessment, and implications of adaptive capacity profiling in adults, emphasizing age-related changes, risk stratification, and intervention strategies. It aims to provide clinicians with a comprehensive understanding of adaptive capacity as both a biological marker and a therapeutic target for improving patient resilience and healthspan.

Introduction

Adaptive capacity encompasses the dynamic processes through which individuals maintain homeostasis and function in the face of environmental, physiological, and psychosocial challenges. In adults, this capacity influences vulnerability to disease, recovery from illness, and overall longevity.
