Speciality: Hematology
Description:
Welcome to today’s episode, where we explore how platelet disorders can impact your health. Platelets are tiny blood cells that help your body form clots to stop bleeding. When there are too few platelets, a condition called thrombocytopenia, you may notice frequent bruising or bleeding that’s hard to stop. On the other hand, too many platelets, known as thrombocytosis, can make your blood more likely to clot, increasing the risk of stroke or heart attack. Some platelet disorders are inherited, while others develop from medical conditions or medications. Understanding these disorders is important for early diagnosis and effective treatment. Stay tuned for more insights into how your blood health influences your overall wellbeing.
