Speciality: Anesthesia
Description:
Welcome to our podcast, where today we’re answering one of the most common questions in medicine: is general anesthesia safe? For most healthy people, modern general anesthesia is considered very safe. Complications are rare, thanks to advances in drugs, monitoring, and training. Anaesthetists carefully assess your health and tailor the anaesthesia to your needs. Common side effects like nausea or sore throat are usually minor and temporary. Serious risks, such as allergic reactions or breathing problems, are extremely uncommon. If you have medical conditions, your anaesthetist will discuss these with you beforehand. Remember, open communication with your medical team helps ensure the safest experience possible. If you have concerns, don’t hesitate to ask questions before your procedure.
