Managing Hydration During Recurrent Fever Recovery

Speciality: Fever

Speaker:

Dr Naresh D Malhotra | HCP

Description:

Welcome to our podcast. Today, we’re discussing the importance of managing hydration during recovery from recurrent fever. When you have repeated fevers, your body loses more fluids through sweating and higher temperatures. This can quickly lead to dehydration, making recovery harder. To manage this, drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you don’t feel very thirsty. Oral rehydration solutions or clear broths can also help replace lost fluids and essential salts. Avoid caffeine and sugary drinks, as they can worsen dehydration. Monitor your urine colour—pale yellow usually means you’re well hydrated. Remember, staying hydrated supports your immune system and can speed up your recovery. If you notice signs of severe dehydration, consult a healthcare professional promptly.
