Speciality: Obstetrics and Gynecology

Description:

Welcome to our podcast on menstrual health. Understanding your period is vital for overall well-being. A normal menstrual cycle typically lasts between 21 and 35 days, and bleeding usually lasts from two to seven days. It’s common to experience mild discomfort, such as cramps or mood changes, but severe pain, very heavy bleeding, or cycles shorter than 21 days or longer than 35 days may need medical attention. Irregular periods can sometimes be caused by stress, significant weight changes, or underlying health conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome. If you notice sudden changes in your cycle or symptoms that disrupt your daily life, it’s important to consult a healthcare professional. Remember, every body is unique, but knowing what’s typical helps you stay in control of your health.
