Dr. Rajesh Gadia explains that many COVID-19 patients experience mild to moderate symptoms, such as fever, cough, and fatigue. These common signs often resemble those of the flu or a common cold, including muscle aches, headaches, and sore throat. Some individuals may also report gastrointestinal issues like nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.According to Dr. Gadia, severe cases of COVID-19 can lead to more serious health issues. Patients might develop pneumonia, which can progress to acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) if not promptly treated. Symptoms in severe cases include significant shortness of breath, chest pain, and confusion, requiring urgent medical intervention.Dr. Gadia highlights that COVID-19 can also affect the nervous and vascular systems. Some patients experience loss of taste or smell, a condition known as anosmia. Additionally, the virus can cause blood clots, leading to complications like strokes or pulmonary embolism, particularly in patients with pre-existing health conditions.
