Adenomyosis is a gynecologic condition that causes the endometrial tissue in the lining of the uterus to grow into the muscular wall of the uterus causing enlargement of the uterus. Basically these are not harmful but can lead to very heavy menstrual bleeding along with severe pain, thereby, affecting regular lifestyle.
Adenomyosis is traditionally considered as an enigmatic disease. It is a uterine disease that affects many women of reproductive age and is a contributing factor for pelvic pain, heavy menstrual bleeding (HMB), and subfertility.
