Description:
A warm welcome to all the medical professionals in this interesting session on Biologics in Psoriasis
Biologics have revolutionized the treatment of psoriasis, offering targeted therapies that address the underlying mechanisms of this chronic autoimmune condition. Unlike traditional systemic treatments, which broadly suppress the immune system, biologics specifically target key molecules involved in the inflammatory pathways of psoriasis. This precision has resulted in significant improvements in efficacy and safety, providing relief for patients with moderate to severe psoriasis who have not responded well to conventional therapies.
The most commonly used biologics for psoriasis include TNF inhibitors, IL-12/23 inhibitors, IL-17 inhibitors, and IL-23 inhibitors. These drugs have demonstrated remarkable success in reducing the severity of psoriatic lesions and achieving long-term skin clearance. Clinical trials and real-world studies have shown that many patients experience rapid and sustained improvements, with some achieving near-complete remission of their symptoms. This has significantly enhanced the quality of life for those living with psoriasis.
Therefore, get an overall knowledge of biologics in psoriasis
