Speciality: Fever
Description:
Welcome to today’s episode, where we explore evidence-based fever management. Fever is a natural response, usually signalling that the body is fighting an infection. But when should you worry? Current guidelines suggest treating a fever only if it causes discomfort, rather than just focusing on the temperature. Paracetamol or ibuprofen can be used safely, but alternating them is not generally recommended. Most fevers resolve on their own, and hydration is crucial. Remember, seek medical advice if there are warning signs like persistent high fever, breathing difficulties, or seizures. Evidence-based care helps us avoid unnecessary medication and focus on comfort. Stay informed, and always consult your doctor for any concerns.
