Description:

Welcome to our podcast. Today, we’ll discuss a practical approach to fever. Fever is a common symptom, often signalling the body’s response to infection. The first step is to measure the temperature accurately with a reliable thermometer. Next, assess for any warning signs, such as difficulty breathing, persistent vomiting, confusion, or rash. Most fevers in adults and children are mild and can be managed at home with rest, fluids, and paracetamol if needed. However, seek medical help if the fever lasts more than three days, is very high, or if you notice any serious symptoms. Remember, fever is usually a sign of the body fighting an illness, not the illness itself. Stay calm, monitor symptoms, and seek help if concerned.
