Speciality: Critical Care
Description:
Welcome to our podcast on ICU survivorship and family function. Today, we explore how critical illness impacts not just patients, but their families as well. After an ICU stay, survivors often face physical, emotional, and cognitive challenges known as post-intensive care syndrome. Families, too, may experience stress, anxiety, or changes in their roles. Recent research highlights the importance of family-centered care and early support interventions. By understanding these dynamics, clinicians can better support both survivors and their loved ones throughout recovery. As perspectives evolve, integrating psychosocial support into ICU care is becoming essential. Stay tuned for more insights on how we can improve outcomes for all affected by critical illness.
