Speciality: Infection Control
Description:
Welcome to our podcast. Today, we’re exploring how healthcare facilities work to reduce the risk of healthcare-associated infections, or HAIs. These infections can occur while patients are receiving treatment in hospitals or clinics. To prevent HAIs, healthcare providers follow strict hand hygiene protocols, regularly disinfect surfaces and medical equipment, and use personal protective equipment such as gloves and masks. Staff are trained to recognize early signs of infection and isolate affected patients when necessary. Vaccination programs and antibiotic stewardship also play important roles. By combining these strategies, healthcare teams protect patients, staff, and visitors, making care environments safer for everyone.
