Urinary Tract Infection: Symptoms and Prevention

Speciality: Urology

Speaker:

Dr. Yatin Mehta | Consultant Urologist

Description:

Welcome to our podcast. Today, we’re exploring urinary tract infections, or UTIs. A UTI is a common infection that can affect any part of the urinary system, including the bladder and urethra. Typical symptoms include a burning sensation during urination, frequent urges to urinate, cloudy or strong-smelling urine, and sometimes pelvic pain. To help prevent UTIs, it’s important to drink plenty of water, urinate regularly, and always wipe from front to back after using the toilet. Wearing breathable cotton underwear and avoiding harsh soaps can also help. If you notice symptoms, consult your healthcare provider promptly for treatment. Thanks for listening to our quick guide on UTIs.
