Blood Clotting Disorders Explained

Speciality: Hematology

Speaker:

Dr. AJGARE SACHIN MADHUKAR | Consultant Hematologist

Description:

Welcome to our podcast, where today we’re exploring blood clotting disorders. Normally, your blood forms clots to stop bleeding when you get injured. But with clotting disorders, this balance is disrupted. Some conditions, like haemophilia, prevent blood from clotting properly, making even small injuries dangerous. Others, such as deep vein thrombosis, cause the blood to clot too easily and can lead to serious complications like strokes or pulmonary embolisms. These disorders may be inherited or develop later in life, and symptoms range from easy bruising to sudden swelling or pain. Diagnosis involves blood tests and careful medical history. Understanding these conditions is vital, as early detection and treatment can significantly improve outcomes.
