As healthcare professionals, our role extends beyond treatment to include prevention, particularly in cases of sudden cardiac death (SCD).
Early identification of patients with risk factors like hypertension, obesity, and diabetes is crucial. Regular screenings and health checks can facilitate this.
Encouraging lifestyle changes, administering appropriate medication, and implementing cardiac rehabilitation programs can significantly reduce SCD risk.
By adopting a proactive approach, we can shift our focus from intervention to prevention, thus reducing the incidence of SCD in our patient population.
