The incidence of pregnancies in women of advanced maternal age (AMA), typically defined as 35 years or older, has risen sharply in high-income countries over the past two decades. According to recent surveillance data, women aged 40 and above now account for a significant proportion of first-time and repeat pregnancies, with the global fertility rate in this group steadily increasing.
