Abstract

Intensive care unit (ICU) survivors face a multitude of long-term physical, cognitive, and psychological sequelae, collectively known as post-intensive care syndrome (PICS). The increasing recognition of these outcomes has driven the emergence of digital ICU survivor registries, which facilitate systematic longitudinal outcome tracking. This review synthesizes current evidence on the deployment, utility, and clinical implications of digital registries in monitoring ICU survivor trajectories, highlighting their relevance for research, quality improvement, and patient-centered care. We examine recent advances in registry design, data integration, and analytics, and discuss best-practice guideline recommendations to optimize their implementation in critical care settings.
