Unani medicine, with origins in Greco-Arabic tradition, posits that individual health is governed by a unique balance of four humors and corresponding mizaj: sanguine (damwi), phlegmatic (balghami), choleric (safrawi), and melancholic (sawdawi). This temperament-based paradigm underpins diagnostic and therapeutic decisions, aiming for harmony between an individual’s constitution and environmental factors.
