This review synthesizes recent evidence on the epidemiology, pathophysiology, risk factors, clinical features, diagnosis, management, and guideline-directed approaches to sustaining lifestyle changes following weight-loss interventions. Mechanism-based explanations, clinical insights, and practical implications are emphasized to inform optimal care strategies and support durable behavioral change in patients with obesity.

The global burden of obesity continues to rise, driving increased morbidity, mortality, and healthcare resource utilization.
